It is not a true belief or assertion, but a form of intentional straw man that is used to illustrate the problems with claiming that god cannot be disproved, therefore he must exist. The correlation with religious belief have led many to claim sightings of his Noodleness (replacement for holiness) and create FSM centered doctrines. These are all done in jest, and it is a faux belief system, and many atheists claim no association with it.
