Fluoride in drinking water is the best way to prevent tooth decay in children. People who use municipal water in the City of Stevens Point, Plover, and Whiting get adequate amounts of fluoride in their drinking water. If you have a private well or your children drink most of their water from a non-fluoridated water source, they may be eligible for free dietary fluoride supplements. Portage County children between the ages of 6 months to 16 years are eligible. 1. Have your water tested for fluoride.
