The first wave of Los Angeles city election results showed Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa leading the other nine candidates challenging him in his bid for a second term. But Villaraigosa’s margin in absentee voting was underwhelming: He was leading the other candidates with 54% of the vote. His closest challenger, attorney Walter Moore, was in second place with 23%.
