What is the first step in a recall process?
Any registered voter of Kansas City, Mo., may file an affidavit with the city clerk (25th floor, City Hall, 414 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO) stating the name and office of the person whose removal by recall is sought and the grounds alleged for the removal. The registered voter must be a resident of the specific district if the recall of an in-district councilperson is sought. The registered voter can be a resident of any district if the recall of at at-large councilperson or the mayor is sought.
