What is the first exam going to look like?

The first two pages of the exam will contain essay questions addressing your understanding of general systems, systems problems, and aspects of the COSO framework. There will also be a question about how hierarchical block diagramming might apply to the cases we discussed in class. You do not have to memorize the cases. If you need a specific case during the exam, I will allow you to refer to it. There will also be approximately forty-five to fifty MCs (the systems basics practice quiz in TechTutor(tm) contains some general examples.) with a lot of emphasis on the questions we discussed in class, the material covered in the book, lessons learned from the cases we analyzed, and the teaching notes. Understanding examples of what we have talked about is extremely important, particularly when it comes to understanding concepts like the control environment, evaluation, critical thinking, group dynamics, real-time vs. batch processing, systems thinking, ethical principles, COSO, COBIT, Bloom
