What is the finish process used on the bins? How do I know the finish will stay on?
The bare galvanized metal is treated with a rustproof metal primer that is sprayed on. This primer actually chemically etches the surface of the metal and provides a base coat upon which to apply the base colors. Two coats of a base color are applied with a brush. The design is laid out and painted by hand; technique medium is then applied to achieve the desired pattern and finish. Polyurethane is applied to protect this base color coat prior to applying additional design details and monograms. The final design is protected with three to four coats of both satin and gloss polyurethane, again, applied with a brush. The two types of polyurethane provide a durable and pleasing finish, enhancing the design of the product. Nonetheless, if the item is subjected to unusual treatment, it may chip. Over time, it may also wear in certain areas . The design takes this into consideration so that over time and with appropriate use, you will still be pleased with the appearance and finish.
