In order to be eligible for personal exemptions for the tax year beginning on July 1st, applications must be filed by March 15th. For example, an application must be filed by March 15, 2010 in order to be eligible for exemptions for the tax year beginning July 1, 2010. If March 15th falls on a weekend, the deadline is extended to the following weekday.
