What is the filing date of a Canadian patent application?
If the request for examination is not made by the due date, the application becomes abandoned on the date the request was due, but can be restored within one year of that date by paying the examination fee and a restoration fee. If the examination fee and restoration fee are not paid within one year of the date of abandonment, it will no longer be possible to restore the application.
