What is the “File extension” option used for?
Use this to name or rename the types of files created by Build A FAQ. The default file type is “shtml” but you can rename it to htm, html, asp or any other valid web file type. When you change the extension, links on the main page that point to all categories are also updated. However, if you have any other links that point to the main page or categories, you will need to manually update them to reflect the change in file names. For example, lets say you changed the file types from shtml to html The main list is now found at index.html and the links on that page now all point to .html files. You should change this to suit your needs early on in the FAQ building process. If you have found that you no longer wish to use the new file names, or renaming all external links was more work than you had bargained for, you can always change the name back to shtml.
