What is the FIGs program?
FIU can be a large place with over 37,000 students. FIGs (First-Year Interest Groups) place first-semester freshmen into small “learning communities” of twenty-four students with similar interests, often with the same intended majors. FIGs make students feel at home at FIU. FIGs create closer relationships with both fellow students and professors, and that translates into more involvement and a more positive transition to college life. Encourage your student to visit the FIGs website for more information. http://www.fiu.
