What is the field/culminating experience?
The field experience consists of working 400 hours in an agency or program whose primary mission is public health related. This requirement provides students with practical experience; allowing the student to apply and incorporate skills and knowledge learned during their graduate study in a public health setting. MPH students participate in a field experience following the completion of majority of coursework. One the field experience has been completed, students will independently produce two tangible products: a paper and a presentation describing the work they engaged in and what they learned from the field experience.
