What is the fidelity level of the Ground Models?

Generally, the GM boards are representative for the flight units in form, fit and function. Structural parts/materials and electronic components are not flight standard and the performance characteristic are not fully representative to the flight units (e.g. timing). FMs and GMs will essentially differ in the standard of components and verification testing with respect to environmental testing. The GMs can be used to support the design and development phase on the next higher integration level, but cannot be used to support the qualification process. The thermal behaviour, e.g. of SPLC GM boards, is not representative to the flight units. For this reason, SPLC GM boards will not be delivered with cold fingers.
