What is the FBIs role in counterterrorism?
The FBI’s role is to protect the U.S. and U.S. persons and interests throughout the world from terrorist attack. This is accomplished through professional investigation, intelligence activities, and coordinated efforts with local, state, federal, and foreign entities as appropriate. Does the FBI share information on terrorists with other domestic and foreign law enforcement agencies? Countering terrorism effectively requires the exchange of information and close, daily coordination among U.S. law enforcement, intelligence, and service entities, as well as international law enforcement agencies. An example of this cooperation includes the Terrorist Threat Integration Center.
