When you select the Extra sound effects option from the Accessibility Options screen, extra sounds and speech will be provided in the 3D world. You will hear footsteps while you are walking, and the footstep sounds will change if you are walking up or down. You will hear different kinds of sound when you bump into objects, players or SmogGobs. When you cross a threshold, you will get a description of the general area you have just entered.
