What is the external 6-channel decoder inputs on my Yamaha receiver used for ?
The external input connections on the rear of the unit are designed for an MPEG2 processor that is very popular in Japan and was scheduled to come to the US. So at this point, there is no US made component that you can connect, short of a 6-channel separate processor that you can use for this port. At the present time, please ignore that section of your AV receiver.
