What is the explanation for the phenomenon “night and day”?
The day and night phenomenon has nothing to do with the Sun centered or Earth centered model of universe. It happens only because earth rotates around her own axis in about 24 hours. The side facing to sun has light so it is called as day and the side opposite to that is in dark so it is the night time. Imagine that the earth is not rotating around her own axis then only one side will be facing to sun which will always have the day and the other side will be in dark always. Yes earth rotates around the sun also. So very slowly the other parts of the earth will be exposed to sun and the night and day phenomenon would have been an yearly event. The earth’s axis is inclined at 23.5 degrees so there are different seasons in different parts of the earth.
