What is the expected turnaround time for the issuance of a letter of acceptance?
A submission is given a preliminary review on a first come, first serve basis. The expected turnaround time for the issuance of a letter of acceptance is dependant upon the following: • The amount of submissions received by the CFIA at the time of the applicant’s request submission; • The adequacy of the information submitted by applicant to the CFIA; • Nature and complexity of product submitted for evaluation; • The intended use of the product as well as the product’s potential risk to food.
