What is the expected life of the Sweetfilter?

The activated Zeocarbon lasts longer than other simpler carbon media. Common household chemical use (including bleach) increases the life of Zeocarbon. Chlorine (bleach) and Hydroxides (strong alkaline soaps) are used to renew zeocarbon media. However, it is preferred that the Zeocarbon be recycled back to the ground as a fertilizer for carbon sequestering. The Zeocarbon has a maximum odor absorbing capacity and will last between 1 and 5 years, depending on your septic system. For example, if you put them on a restaurant they may last 1-2 years (for our commercial units see our Sweetfilter II at www.SweetAirFilter.com). If you put them on a residence they may last 5 or more years.
