What is the expected effect on fail rates? How many extra fails will there be on top of previous fail rates?
DVTA will provide information to the public and garages to ensure that headlamp alignment is done correctly. Before the new test is introduced on a pass/fail basis on 31 March 2005, the new headlamp beam testing equipment will be re-calibrated and certain changes will be made to the equipment and the associated software. All these factors should lead to less impact on failure rates.
