What is the event at St James Park?
The annual event held at St James’ Park each spring celebrates 100% school attendance for at least three consecutive years. In 2009 it took place on Thursday 12 March and 138 children and young people were invited. Many business partners of the Education Welfare Service joined families at the event and enjoyed a super celebration of outstanding school attendance. Players from Newcastle United Football Academy took part in fun quizzes with the children. Pupils received goody bags, filled with lots of items generously donated by local businesses. Prizes galore including match tickets and gift vouchers were up for grabs in a special draw. Newcastle United Football Club is the major sponsor for this event. We are grateful to all partners who help ensure our celebrations are a great success.
