What is the estimated cost of these additional investments in data systems?
The state of California spends nearly $60 billion a year on K-12 education. Yet, it has no comprehensive system for measuring the effectiveness of instructional programs. For less than one-half of one percent of that amount, the state could maximize its investment in existing data systems and be able to make smarter decisions about where and how to invest its education dollars. By adding this “final mile” to our data systems already in existence, California will be able to exponentially increase the effectiveness of our data analysis and create a continuous learning system that will lead to improved student achievement.
