Ernst & Young, a global audit firm, recently estimated that the costs incurred for turnover in client service roles averaged 150 per cent of a departing employee’s annual salary. Staff turnover can also substantially affect retention of customers. In one study of more than 3,000 customers in six service industries, 80 per cent saw employee retention as a problem for their service provider.
