What is the Equitable Stroke Control chart?

Before you go out to play you will want to take your index (which is a 36.4, until you have an official one posted) and look at the clubs conversion chart to see what your handicap is for that course. Once you see what your course handicap is, you will look at the ESC chart to see how many strokes you are allowed to take per hole. So lets say after doing the calculations you see that your handicap is a 34, and due to ESC you can take a maximum of 9 strokes per hole. You go play your 18 holes and when calculating your adjusted gross score, you see that on the 12th hole you took an 11. Off of your gross score you need to deduct two strokes since you are only allowed to take a 9. So if your gross score was 100, than your adjusted gross score is 98 and that is the score you would post. EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL 18 hole course handicap, Maximum strokes allowed on any hole: 9 or less = Double Bogey 10 through 19 = 7 maximum 20 through 29 = 8 maximum 30 through 39 = 9 maximum 40 and above = 10
