What is the EPT, and who is required to take it?

The EPT (English Proficiency Test) is designed to assess a student’s English proficiency. The test is administered by the American Language Program (ALP) of Columbia University. Students who received their undergraduate degree in a county where English is not the official language are required to take the EPT. In general, this applies to students who were required to submit TOEFL scores for admissions.
