What is the environmental regulation of PEMEX?
PEMEX is subject to various laws related to the environmental protection of natural resources, as well as the management of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. In particular, we are subject to the provisions of the Ley General del Equilibrio Ecológico y la Protección al Ambiente (General Law on Ecological Equilibrium and Environmental Protection, which we refer to as the Environmental Law), the regulations issued thereunder and several technical environmental norms issued by the SEMARNAT (the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources). The Secretaría de Salud (the Ministry of Health), the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (the Ministry of Communications and Transportation), the Secretaría de Marina (Ministry of Navy) and the Ministry of Energy assist the SEMARNAT in its functions.
