This is a database file in which Entourage stores items under the header “On My Computer”. This includes: • messages • events • tasks • preferences • contacts These items are not on the server and are NOT backed up. You can make a backup copy of the entire Microsoft User Data folder or just the folder for an identity. • Go to /Users/username/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2008 Identities. • Copy the folder to another location like an external drive or server or burn to CD or DVD. • If you try to save it to the local desktop, make sure there is enough space on your hard drive. • Note: If you’re still using Office 2004, instructions are the same just a different folder. If Entourage detects a problem with the database, it automatically starts the Database Utility. These are the possible problems that Microsoft says will trigger the utility: • Email randomly goes into other mailboxes • Entourage does not open, stops responding, or quits unexpectedly. • Entourage items do not open or
