What is the enrollment process?
First, students submit an application with a small application fee. Admissions reviews the application and calculates any credits due for previous courses or relative training programs. Secondly, if the student desires enrollment, they will set up a financial plan that suits them. Once enrolled, the student is given an enrollment key for the AHUonline.us course management site. The student submits the key to the degree track of their choice, and the system sends back a pass code that fits their selected user name. Now, the student can view their core and elective courses. All courses are self-paced, non-timed, and self-grading with answers derived from the texts. Some exams involve 10% inference, which means that the student must deduct the correct answer from knowing the material in the text; otherwise, all answers may be found almost verbatim in the required texts. All students have a grade book feature where they can view their scores.
Once an applicant’s full tuition has been received an enrollment package is sent to them. This package includes several pages of detailed information to prepare the participant for arrival and has forms to be signed and returned to the trainers. Persons who are taking psychotropic medication may not enroll until they have stopped taking the medication, hopefully with their physician’s advice. Tuition may be paid with cash, money orders, bank transfers, or credit card checks. If overseas, payment may be made via bank transfer, money order, or check in U.S. funds only. You may also inquire about a loan program.
The enrollment process consists of the following components: optional pre-enrollment, in-person enrollment, security threat assessment and notification of the results, and issuance of the TWIC to the applicant. Applicants may pre-enroll online to enter all of the biographic information required for the threat assessment and make an appointment at the enrollment center to complete the process (although appointments are not required). Then applicants must visit the enrollment center where they will pay the enrollment fee, complete a TWIC Application Disclosure Form, provide biographic information and a complete set of fingerprints, and sit for a digital photograph. The applicant must bring identity verification documents to enrollment and in the case of aliens, immigration documents that verify their immigration status, so that the documents can be scanned into the electronic enrollment record.
The enrollment process is online and immediate and includes telephony based validation. You must be near to, or have access to, a telephone or cell phone to complete the enrollment process in one step – which takes about 5 minutes. If you do not have access to a telephone when the enrollment is taking place you can complete the telephony validation at a later time. We will send you an email containing a link for you to be able to complete the process at any time. It is very important that you do not lose this email, doing so will delay the issuance of your certificate. If you do lose your email please contact the order processing team. Please note that until the telephony validation is complete we will not be able to issue your certificate.
