What is the energy content of hydrogen?
The energy contained in hydrogen at a molecule level is 33.3 kWh/kg = 120 MJ/kg. This energy can be release through a combustion process or by using a fuel cell. When used at an atomic level the energy released from the hydrogen isotopes, deuterium if burned in a fusion reactor is about 1,400 times higher than the energy release from its combustion.
