What is the EMT-Paramedic Program?
The Paramedic Program is based on the United States Department of Transportation Paramedic National Standard Curriculum and the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support guidelines. Curriculum from Basic Trauma Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support is incorporated into the program. The Training consists of theory and skills including classroom lecture and laboratory, clinical laboratory and squad time. Approval must be secured from the Program Manager at the Metropolitan Campus prior to registering for the Paramedic class. This is an eight month class over two semesters. At the completion of the class, the student will take the National Registry examination for certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of Ohio. EMT-Paramedics must recertify every two years.
