All Local Governments since 2003/04 are required to collect the “Emergency Services Levy” (ESL) for FESA. This levy is to fund the career Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Brigade, SES units and FESA units throughout Western Australia.
