At one level the answer is ‘yes’, because we don’t place any constraints on how the data is used. However, the regridding may turn out – in scientific terms – to be useless at best and nonsense at worst. If there were a simple way to represent monthly climate on (say) a 1 kilometre grid, we would have done it ourselves, because lots of people would like 1 kilometre grids! The reason why we haven’t done it is because we can’t justify it scientifically. Sometimes a researcher wants a high spatial resolution because there is a small study site for which climate information is required. In this case, we recommend that the researcher obtains a detailed station record from as close a station as possible.
