What is the Electrical Technology Certification Program?
Electrical Technology is an electrical apprenticeship training program with an emphasis on residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial wiring. The program combines fifteen months of classroom, lab, and on-the-job training. Students will learn the latest National Electrical Code, electrical fundamentals, various electrical installations, and various electrical operations in housing, agriculture and industry. These skills will be used to become a licensed journey electrician through the State of Michigan. Students successfully completing the requirements of the Electrical Technology program receive a Certificate from the Institute of Agricultural Technology and are eligible to participate in the annual graduation ceremony of the Institute of Agricultural Technology held on a Sunday afternoon at the end of March at the Wharton Center.
