What is the effective date of the policy changes?
The effective date of the changes is May 5, 2005. However, the DMERCs have until July 5, 2005 to implement these changes. If a claim that is processed before before July 5 is denied because the CMN edits have not yet been changed (see below), the claim can be adjusted if it is submitted as a redetermination request.
