What is the effect of storage temperature on the P700 tubes?
The external packaging and product insert recommend storage of P700 in the sealed desiccated pouch, at 2°- 8°C, immediately upon receipt of the product. A situation may arise in which the product may not be immediately stored at 2°- 8°C upon delivery (e.g., the shipment may be left out for a period on a laboratory bench or in a receiving area). BD is currently conducting studies on P700 to determine the effect of storage temperatures, outside the recommended range of 2°- 8°C, on additive stability. An internal stress protocol tested the stability of the P700 additive at temperature extremes of -20°C and 40°C. Preliminary data indicates that the effectiveness of the P700 additive to inhibit DPP-IV activity is not compromised in tubes stored for one month inside the sealed desiccated pouch, at -20°C and 40°C.
