What is the effect of pop culture in our american society?
It is only bad when people do not bother with real cultural interests and think it is ok to substitute pop culture and put it on the same level. This is done so people who only surround themselves with psuedo culture will feel that something more representative of their life is just as valid as traditional art, music and literature. Country music in the 15 years has shown a trend towards red neck trailer trash themes and poor vocals. This is so people who actually thought Classic Country music was too intellectual won’t feel bad that they are trashy. There is good and fun pop culture and I love it but I know the difference.
