What is the effect of changing the equilibration time prior to second dimension separation?
We recommend an equilibration time of 10 min for each equilibration solution. This can be increased up to 15 min but equilibration times over 15 min can result in vertical streaking due to over-alkylation. Equilibration times below 10 min should not be used as these are likely to lead to poor protein entry into the gel.
