The mission of The Ocean Exploration Trust’s Educator Program is to integrate educators into authentic expedition experiences, empowering them to educate and motivate the next generation of explorers. Our 2010 team of educators is currently comprised of 11 Educators-at-Sea and 20 Educators-Ashore representing both formal and informal educators from Boys & Girls Clubs and both public and private schools from across the country. Educators are part of the NAUTILUS’ scientific team, immersed in the exploration, geology, and archaeology of the expedition. Educators-at-Sea, using their skills as global communicators and mentors, will help stream live feeds directly from the E/V NAUTILUS and explain content as it is broadcast to audiences all over the world on the Web and Internet II, and on-shore Exploration Command Consoles (ECCs).
