What is the Eden Alternative?
A. The Eden Alternative is a philosophical approach to elder care. One of the guiding principles behind the Eden Alternative is to eliminate the three plagues of aging; Loneliness, Helplessness, and Boredom. Where elders live must be habitats for human beings, not sterile medical institutions. At The Courtyards we have adopted the principles of the Eden Alternative in everything that we do. Please be sure to ask one of our community advisors to learn more about this wonderful philosophy. All of our administrators and activity directors are Eden Certified, even our owner is Eden certified.
