What is the easiest way to learn Norwegian and is it difficult?
First of all, learning any language really well is never easy or quick. It takes both time and effort. But hopefully it is worth the investment. Also (being the academic I am), it depends on just what you mean by “learn.” Is your goal to be like a native in speaking, writing, listening, and reading? Those each have their own levels of difficulty for learners. (Reading is generally easiest, unless there is an issue with characters). Speaking is hardest. Do you want to ‘just get by’ or be able to carry on an intelligent conversation on just about any topic? If all you want is to ask for a cup of coffee, that’s easy (if the answer is complicated, that’s another story). My website (below) has many resources for learners of Norwegian (mostly bokmÃ¥l, here), including several very elementary sets of lessons (NorWord, Verb of the week), reference books, thousands of internet sites (called “Shelly Daums links). I also suggest you find a speaker with whom you can communicate– because language i
