What is the easiest way to crop out an irregular object?
Cropping a complex object can take some very fine work with the mouse and is difficult to do perfectly. The “Click Auto Loop” does not usually find the limits of the object you want unless you have photographed over a solid color background and even then differences in shading can be a problem. Note that Crop’s “Draw Loop” tool does allow you to redraw a portion of an existing rope outline as long as you press the left mouse button exactly over the old rope and release it exactly over another point on the old rope. Still getting exactly the right Crop rope can be tedious and error prone. So to crop out a complex object, sometimes it is best to do a rough crop with the Draw Loop tool, leaving some extra background showing. Then use a transparency brush to eliminate the excess (which can be easier than drawing a crop rope exactly at the edge).
