What is the easiest route to Escalante?
From Las Vegas: Take I15 North to 14 East from Cedar City. Then HWY 89 North to American Scenic Byway HWY 12 to Escalante. It is approx. 60 miles East to Escalante. For a more scenic drive, leave I15 in St. George and go through Zion National Park. $20 park pass required. From Salt Lake City: Take I15 South to HWY 20 East. From HWY 20 E, connect to HWY 89 S. Then take 89 S through Panguitch to American Scenic Byway HWY 12 to Escalante. It is approx. 60 miles East to Escalante.
