What is the easiest pet to take care of that still has personality and plays?
I think a cat is about the easiest maintenance animal you will find. They are solitary creatures and therefore can spend time alone. Dogs can suffer from separation anxiety, but I do not believe cats do. They require a clean litter box, fresh water, and food and some toys to play with. (I also always leave the radio on a talk station, when I am going to be away for an extended length of time). Kittens are extremely easy to litter train…If you were to get a kitten it MUST be litter trained before you take if from the mother. The reason I say this, is if the animal is not litter trained, it may be too young to be taken from the mother. I have had several cats and I found they were also very easy to train not to scratch the furniture…. Buy a cardboard cat scratcher and when the kitten trys to scratch where it shouldn’t, just take it to the scratcher and ‘scratch’ the little paws on it.
