What is the easiest, fastest way to setup an L.L.C (limited liability corporation) in Maryland?
The Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation has a form for the charter. Go down to the state complex on Preston Street in Baltimore with a check, fill out the forms, pay the fees, and walk out with your LLC registration number within an hour or two. The stamped charter will be sent to you later, but you are a proper LLC that very day. Of course, that is probably not the BEST way to do it, but you asked for the easiest, fastest way and that is it. Walk in with a check, walk out with a company. You might want to bring a magazine for while you are waiting, and to have a name ready. The easiest way is always to have someone else do it. There are attorneys who specialize in forming corporations and LLCs, there are also incorporation agents, including some that sell their services online (take a look at incorporate.com, for example). Needless to say, the easiest way is almost never the cheapest… Also, you might want to know that LLC stands for “Limited Liability Company”.
