What is the earliest known extant Picture or Sketch of a Yancey?
The earliest known sketches of anyone in the Yancey family is that of Robert Leighton Yancey and his brother David Yancey. Although photography did not come into use until the late 1840’s other Yancey portraits of significance – which resemble photos include that of Joel Yancey of Bedford Co., VA (1774-1833) and Benjamin Cudworth Yancey (1783-1817).
