What is the eagle talon?
The Eagle Talon is published each month and is distributed on the last Thursday of each month when there is school. The purpose of the Eagle Talon is to provide students with news about school events, sports and activities and stories of relevance or interest to the students at AVHS. Beginning with the 2007-2008 school year, the newspaper will become a cocurricular activity, meeting after school every Tuesday. Staff members will have deadlines to meet so the newspaper will get to press well edited in time for publication. The editors have the bulk of the work to do for each issue with layout, design, and editing responsiblities. The entire staff chooses which articles will go in the next issue and editors and reporters decide who will write each article. The editors assign deadline and word counts for each articles. The photo editor makes sure the needed photos are taken, processed and placed on the appropriate page. Anyone who is interested in joining the staff should contact Mrs. Rob
