Creative MediaSource supports multiple sound devices in one PC. This drop down box is provided for you to select which sound device you want to set as active. If you have multiple sound cards/devices such as Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Extigy installed on the same system, you will have an option to select. If you only have one sound device in your PC, there will not be any option to select. Depending on the sound device you select, the EAX effects may be enabled/disabled accordingly.
