Dress code is an essential part of the discipline of dance. The leotard and tights we wear allow for a full range of motion and movement as well as allowing the teacher to see your “lines” during class. General: Students must wear street clothing over their dance attire to come and go from class. Ballet shoes or dance shoes are not worn outside the building for any reason. If you are not sure how to fit shoes, please let the teacher see the shoe before wearing them or sewing on the elastic. They cannot be returned if they are worn. Jewelry should be removed before class for safety purposes. Ballet: Girls: Pink leather ballet shoes (canvas for company members only), pink tights with feet (convertible if possible), black leotard of any style (no attached skirt). A pink or black dance sweater or shrug (tight fitting) can be used in the winter months during warm-up. Shorts and leg warmers are not permitted.
