What is the dress code and etiquette for Greek Orthodox Funeral in the UK?

Generally, what you would wear to any funeral is fine as long as it is respectful. Most people will wear black or dark colors as those are considered mourning colors in Greece and Cyprus (although I know of one Greek Orthodox funeral in the US where the family wore white because the deceased had FORBIDDEN them to wear black — white being the mourning color in the Far East) If you are familiar with the etiquette found in strict Roman Catholic or COE churches, you will do fine with Greek Orthodox etiquette. If you are sensitive to smoke, please be aware that there may be a lot of incense so be prepared for that. After the service at the church, there is a short service at the internment itself. Usually after the burial proper, there is a meal either at the church hall or at a local restaurant.
