What is the downside of encryption software?

0

In general, encryption software is hard to use, only protects the content while it’s encrypted and key management may be tricky (depending on the type of encryption used). Those are the downsides. The statement ‘Crackers will eventually find a way to hack and decrypt it’ is a bit misleading. Certain types of encryption are practically impossible to break as long as the key length is sufficient. I speak from experience.

unless you wrote the code yourself or where given the code by “only” the person who designed it and that person went to great detail to make sure it was extremely complex. chances even then are that a cryptographic code breaker somewhere will figure it out if it is something worth putting the time into… most of the common user friendly encryption methods are very easy to identify and also clue someone in to the fact that you made an attempt at either being sneaky or protecting valuable data… either way you are better off hiding your encoded version inside the inactive notes section of a picture file or make them appear on certain frames of an avi or something to that effect…
