What Is The Double Slit Experiment And How Does It Impact Human Reality And Consciousness?
The double slit experiment is where one source of emittion (say light) is shone through two slits at a screen so that the resulting interference pattern can be seen. This experiment was done to try and answer “is light is a wave or particle”, as waves would give a different interference pattern to particles – (attributed to Thomas Young c1800 – ish!). Results suggested that light was a wave, but in the 20th century closer inspection and better equipment suggested that light was a particle or both. Now this experiment and its explanations of the results are often used to try and get people into the mindscape of Quantum Mechanics because is demonstrates that light may be a particle or a wave or both, i.e., many things and the same thing at once. This result is further compounded when say, only one electron is fired at the slits at a time and the result is the same as the interference pattern of lots of electrons being fired at once at the slits, which suggests that one electron is interf
